This adorable pet sweater is made of thick, high quality jersey that rivals anything you would buy for a baby. The design and weight of the sweater keeps this top panel in place the full length of the dog's back - a wonderful solution for my "pet" Peeve over most other pet sweaters. (Back length always increases in tufts around the chest or flaps in every wind.) For those interested in fit: My dog is a Bichon mix, weighs about 13 pounds, and has a 10 3/4 inch neck, 17 chest 3/4 inch, back length 15 inch. I ordered the large size offered by this company for this sweater and it fits great. Note: There will be 2 or 3 inches between the edge of the ruffle and the beginning of the tail. So if your small dog has a slightly short back, this size will still work. A sweater should be cozy and comfortable because my dog likes to come and sit when he sees it in my hand!
