I was just replacing some fans in my house and this one ended up in my living room. Installation was fairly easy and was like any other fan. I went and bought a 12" bar to hang it lower than what came with the kit. The lights are pretty bright and the fan is very quiet, which is nice. I ended up adding a remote control instead of the included wall plate. Regarding the wiring, I have two switches for the fan, one for the lights and one for the fan. I wanted to keep those original controls and still be able to use the remote control, so I wired it up like this. This doesn't allow light functions on the remote, but I can control the fan speed, which is really important to me.* All the greenery and bare floor together* White wire from ceiling connected to remote input and white wire from fan (Remote control white cable outlet cover)* Black wire from ceiling to black wire at remote control inlet* Black output wire from remote control unit to black wire from fan* Red ceiling wire to blue wire from fan* Blue cover output wire on remote box.
