Review on 18 Ounce Pink Thermos Intak Hydration Bottle by Ronnie Dunn

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Ideal for babies weaning after 1 year!

This is amazing! They're so easy to clean (which means a lot if you've ever tried cleaning Tommee Tippee Straw Cups!). They have 3 parts: the base of the bottle, a cap that unscrews and has a piece of hard mouthpiece straw on top of the cap, then a detachable hard straw (which fits in a thermos). The two parts of the straw are connected by inserting a hard straw into a flexible integrated connector at the bottom of the screw cap. So when you want to clean it, just pull the hard straw out of the flex connector and you can use the straw cleaner on either side to clean it completely. Then use the straw cleaner and clean the flex connector from below. side of the screw cap and use a straw cleaner to clean the inside of the hard straw at the top of the screw cap. Then use a bottle brush to clean the inside of the bottle. My first son tried Tommee Tippee straw cups and one day neither he nor I got the liquid from the straw. I think they wear out pretty quickly. Not to mention the fact that they were easy to disassemble and assemble. So I found a blue thermos in the drinks container section of Buy Buy Baby! I didn't want a spill-proof mug because the doctors advised to avoid sipping (even if you read tips on Tomme's website you might find that they have to say doctors don't recommend a spill-proof mug!) So it matches mine needs for T! My son started using this when he was 12 months old (he is 3 years old now). My daughter, now 17 months old, started drinking cow's milk from her purple thermos when she was just over 11 months. She saw her brother using it and gave it a try and after a few tries she was able to get the liquid all over the straw! My 3 year old son still uses it when we drive. We take my daughter's milk (in a small insulated bag) and water with us when we visit her. The rigid straw at the top closes easily to prevent spills when not in use. I warn you, if you're using them with milk (after they've been sealed in the fridge), turn the screw cap a little (like you're about to unscrew it all the way) until you feel the pressure release, then screw it back on. the back; Otherwise, the increased pressure will cause milk to overflow through the straw when you open the straw. I give my kids milk with meals and then put it back in the fridge until the next meal. Something in milk raises blood pressure. That doesn't happen with water. Even when eating, the milk sometimes starts to creep down the straw after standing there for a while. All you have to do is twist the screw cap and release the pressure, and the milk will flow down the straw again. I love them and have been using them for 3 years. They hold up very well. I highly recommend it. :-) I hope this helps some frustrated straw-hunting parents!
