Review on Say Goodbye To Tight Shoes With JJDPARTS 4-Way Shoe Stretcher by Steve Collins

If you use these correctly they are a good value.

I bought these to save two pairs of my wifes boots from going to Goodwill. First off, they are NOT professional stretchers. The men's strecther I use on my boots to tweak fit cost me $80 for one about 20 years ago. These are a reasonable $25 for the pair. With that being said, these stretchers do the job very nicely if you use common sense. By that I mean they are plastic so you are not going to stretch a pair of boots a full size or width in one session. If you are careful to set up the stretches correctly, then use leather stretch to saturate strech points before appyling pressure, and if you apply pressure till you get a stretch, allow everything to start moving, apply a little more shoe stretch, apply a little more pressure, etc, etc., they work just fine. The point being you do the stretching bit by bit. It you think you are going to crank down on the stretches with no shoe stretch to make the leather pliable, and if you think you are going to strectch a shoe a full size in one session you will break the stretcher. In my case, I stretched the width and length in two stages then added the bunion pad to form the relief for her small toe, always adding shoe stretch then pressue in increments. The result is a savings of $250, the cost of the two pairs of her boots once again comfortable enough for her to wear.I should mention these are made to stretch high heel type shoes and I was able to use them on leather, side zip, ankle high boots and the stretchers were able to adapt. Also keep in mind vinyl cannot absord shoe stretch and does not give like leather so you would have to go much slower and the stretches would have to stay in a lot longer (not just overnight) for the stretcher to have an effect.Just wet the leather down, make adjustments slowly and in increments, don't try to crank it out in one session and you should be successful. Like I said, I saved a lot of money already and I will surely get more savings out of these stretchers with proper use. For the cost I have zero complaints.
