Several brands sell this identical camera. Of all the Raspberry Pi cameras, I found this to be the only camera that can switch between color for day and infrared (IR) for night vision. This is the best option. This camera uses a built-in photocell to instantly switch from day (color) to night (infrared) at the right light level at dusk. No setting is required to use this function. Comes with two plug in Infrared (IR) LEDs which work great but there are only two so they won't light up your entire yard only about 5ft in front of the camera. For good night vision you need something like "Univivi Infrared Illuminator 850nm 6 LED Wide Angle 90 Degree IR Illuminator for Night Vision" (search for it on Amazon and don't forget the power adapter) to get enough IR light. This is an additional cost, but it is better to have a separate IR emitter. A compact box of six LEDs illuminates your entire garden and the camera doesn't look huge during the day. Two LEDs built into the camera make the camera highly visible during the day (big robot face). Just make sure the IR illuminator is within two feet of the camera and pointing in the same direction, or you'll get weak results. I use these cameras with MotioneyeOS and Raspberry Pi 3 and 4. I get 19 to 38 fps on Raspberry. Pi 4 connected to switch with ethernet. Several software switchable resolutions are available. I use 1600x1200 for the sharpest and widest field of view. This resolution can clearly identify people on the street from a camera positioned 25 feet above my carport. 1920 x 1080 is the highest resolution available in my setup, but that resolution has too narrow a field of view. The camera has excellent bright colors in day mode and high contrast and perfectly sharp images in night mode. Day and night with built-in switching and without scripts or special configurations. This is the best camera yet (August 2019)
