Other information I would like to know before purchasing this product: * The length of the CD slot is just over 5 inches. It contains 2 blades that are about 1.25 inches apart.* The length of the card slot is just under 2.5 inches. It contains 3 blades about 0.7 inches apart. I could not find this information in the product description so was a big surprise when I finally received the product and found that it cuts credit cards and CDs very easily and smoothly. However, it doesn't cut cards and CDs into many pieces. Also, the top is pretty heavy and the bottom pretty light, so I have to steady the device with one hand while chopping to keep it from tipping over while cranking. .This is really designed to cut one sheet of paper at a time. Attempting to shred multiple sheets at once makes it difficult to turn the handle. However, it was the only manual shredder I could find, so I bought it. It's everything I wanted and it runs smoother than I expected. Despite leading with the negatives, the base chopper itself performs impressively well. I always run out of sockets and the electric shredders are always very noisy. It's very nice to be able to shred paper quietly without finding a place to plug in the shredder. I am very satisfied with the product and love my paper shredder!
