Alpine amplifiers with 100 watts RMS per channel and they sound GREAT! Cross them at 100 hertz highs, and with a JBL 12-inch subwoofer you cross the lows at 120 hertz, so there's little crossover. They perfectly balance the sound in our 1983 Suburban after modifying the 4 x 10 speaker holes for installation. People complaining about the lack of bass should buy the right speaker to reproduce the bass they want, these are not subwoofers! It's odd that all the reviews are either 1 or 5 stars with no middle ground, almost like that , as if the reviews are not for it The same speakers. I also have the 6.5 version in another machine that works great. The only complaint about this series is the lack of speaker wire and grille. Would definitely buy again, Cerwin Vega ROCKS! I have LS15 home speakers that still rock after 20+ years of beating them up.
