This is not a historic Starrett quality
I was very disappointed to find that the quality of Starrett had compromised the quality of their products. The Starrett products I have purchased in the past (including this square) have been finished to perfection. and graduation. It has machining marks on flat surfaces and a flaking black finish. The lettering was almost impossible to remove the first time it was used. The whole instrument just doesn't have the fit and feel I expected from Starrett products.
