I am using this outdoors and needed something inexpensive and weather resistant. It may be ok for cigarettes, but the ash hole is too small for cigars. I had to drill bigger so the cigarette butts fell into the lower ash chamber. Forget the glow feature - a good idea for a late night smoke, but it just doesn't work. Finally, being an all-plastic product, the effect of a lit hot cigar is fairly predictable. There are pits and holes throughout the upper (black) part. However, I continue to use and appreciate the usefulness of an outdoor ashtray that stores the ash contained in the chamber so it doesn't fly everywhere. Hence the three stars.
