Definitely size down on this. I normally wear a large but the small/medium helps with the smoothing. I am 5'3" and 160lbs. When I pulled it out of rhe package I was very unsure how it would fit but it was easier to get on than many pairs of jeans. I tried on a pair of jeans that are very snug and with this shaper the jeans were so comfortable to wear. I also don't feel constricted with moving or breathing.
