Works as described, thick, high quality cable with high quality DisplayPort and USB-C connectors. Works with my StarTech.com Thunderbolt 3 Dock (TB3DOCK2DPPD) and directly with my Macbook Pro 15" 2018 and Macbook Pro 13" 2016 with two DELL P2419H monitors, the highest resolution I could test was 1920 x 1080 at 60 Hz. It uses "alternative DP mode" when connected to a docking station. DP Alternate Mode (DisplayPort Alternate Mode) [from StartTech.com] DP Alternate Mode is a specification that allows DisplayPort video signals to be transmitted over USB-C. This allows the USB-C interface to be used for DisplayPort signals. Thunderbolt3 supports the full USB-C standard, including DP Alternate Mode support. Because the dock supports DP Alternate Mode, you can connect Thunderbolt 3 or USB-C based video devices, cables, or adapters to the additional Thunderbolt 3 port on the back of the dock.
