I purchased this item to replace the clipper and file I have used for 30 years. I'm in a wheelchair so I break or break my nails sometimes and I need something to carry with me at all times. This little combo is small enough to be very portable. I suppose it would be better if it was flatter but then the pliers wouldn't work for the toe and that would reduce the marketability so it's understandable that the manufacturer wants to keep the market as wide as possible. The file is small but works great, with an almost sandpaper-like finish to keep nail polish very soft. The knives are wide and very sharp, and the entire combination remains small enough to be easily carried in a pocket hanging from the armrest. It should also easily fit in a purse or even a pocket, although carrying it that way can be a bit awkward. I think it's a good product and very comfortable. It comes with a guarantee which is rare for almost any product these days. This is exactly what I was looking for.
