My laptop at work keeps getting hot with age, but due to budget constraints we can't afford new laptops. To increase lifespan and consistent performance, I bought this to keep the CPU fan from spinning too much and to let cooler air through. The fans are pretty loud and the speed controller is in a terrible place (behind the laptop). . For the next model, I'm hoping the fans will be quieter and the speed dial should be on the front or side. The latches that hold the laptop in place are pretty sturdy and gave me the option to make my laptop a third screen with my dual screen setup. Just an added bonus that I wanted to share.
