Review on 🚗 Dorman 264-983 Engine Valve Cover: The Perfect Fit for Jeep Models by Jamie Sorenson

From the outside it looks like a great part, it looks like it is an exact match for the original Chrysler part. However, there is a stamped baffle inside the cap that is resistance welded to the valve cap (like the OEM part). Due to poor quality and process control, the baffle was not welded at the correct height in relation to the cap at one end. When I started the installation, the baffle hit the #1 cylinder rocker arms and the valve cover didn't even touch the gasket on that end. I installed this as part of an engine overhaul. Stock restoration with stock cam lifters, stock cylinder head, stock rocker arms. I ended up installing the original OEM rocker cover (with the baffle properly positioned) and it fit snugly. I pre-purchased this product and it was past my return deadline so I was basically robbed.
