In summary, I had 2 problems (1 and 2 below are related); 1. The device will not hold a charge or will continue to discharge at the same rate even after it was turned off.2. Maybe that's because the battery was completely drained one day (overnight without a charger). At first the device starts charging correctly, but after a few minutes (from red to blue) it recognizes that it is fully charged, even if it hasn't been charged yet. This problem can be solved by unplugging the charging cable and plugging it back in. The device will eventually take over charge.3. The microphone on the boom that plugs directly into the helmet clamp had a terrible sound. We had 5 drivers on a mesh network and they complained that my transmissions had high distortion and intermittent output (every other word, every syllable, etc.). This was fixed when I installed a wired microphone that sticks/attaches directly to the inside of the helmet. I was using the Sena 10 but decided to upgrade to the Sena 30K for a motorcycle trip from California to Alaska. It was a family trip and we had to join 5 people, some already had Sena 30K. It was a once in a lifetime journey. It took a few days to find workarounds for microphone distortion and charging issues. At that time, I could not reliably participate in communications and interact with other individuals on the journey. I feel betrayed since the days when I couldn't communicate with my sons and their families. I couldn't talk about what we saw, tell jokes or even if someone had to stop to take a picture and that time can't be replaced, it has come and gone. And this missed opportunity is directly related to the quality issues of the Sena 30K. We've also found that mesh communications are literally line of sight. If you drive around the street corner or even have a big car between the drivers, the connection will be very poor or non-existent. Normally, if you could see another driver, you could talk to them, but no more. When driving around the street corner or even have a big car between drivers, the connection is very bad or not available. Normally, if you could see another driver, you could talk to them, but no more. If you drive around the street corner or even have a big car between the racers, the communication will be of very poor quality or not at all. Normally, if you could see another driver, you could talk to them, but no more.
