A set of gloves is not enough for a future piercing.
First thing I did was drill through my kitchen wall and it worked great. I wish it had more than one set of gloves and I personally use 96% alcohol to ensure there are no infections. I have had my septum pierced for just under a week and there is no discomfort or swelling. I can't wait to pierce other parts of my body, I just haven't had the opportunity.
