Let's start with the good news: I was able to insert a ruler into the viewfinder. The locking tab made the ruler a little tricky to insert, but once inserted and locked in place it seemed solid enough. Unfortunately, this was the only sensible combination in the set. Now for the bad. First of all, the most basic part of the set: the ruler. You'd think it would be easy to make a decent ruler with smooth, straight edges, but here, at least in the set I received, the edges were pretty rough and sharp. One of the edges had a small, raised, jagged protrusion about 1 inch from one end, and it was sharp enough to snag and cut a shop towel. Next is a square. It was very difficult to insert the ruler into the square due to the shape of the locking tab. The tongue stuck out so far that it made the ruler very narrow. In the end I succeeded, but I had to wrap the ruler in a towel so as not to cut my hands on the sharp edges. When I fixed it, there was excessive side to side play in the ruler because the slot for the ruler is much wider than the thickness of the ruler itself. Finally a protractor. I could never get the ruler to match that. I tried one way, flipping the ruler, still doesn't work. The locking tab and pin were too thick. I even rotated the pen so the tab was on the other side of the ruler slot, but there still wasn't enough room for the ruler. In any case, the quality is not acceptable for a supposed measuring device. Just sorry for the courier who delivered that at 9pm! Little did he know that in just half an hour it would be repackaged with a return label.
