I bought this air purifier to replace a cheap, noisy Holmes model I bought at Walmart. To be fair he did a good job but I wasn't impressed at all. So I ordered the Guardian because, I won't lie, I liked how it looked in the photos and more importantly, it got great reviews everywhere. Having used the Guardian for the past three days in a row I can personally attest to great reviews. This machine is quiet, works great, and is by far the most aesthetically pleasing air purifier I've seen. a plastic smell that I noticed for the first few hours after turning it on. My room is medium sized, around 75-80 square meters (if I had to guess) and the smell was quite strong, especially for the first hour. I remember wondering if this thing would be kind enough to pick up its own scent, but of course the answer was no. Luckily the smell soon went away and this cleaner has been working great ever since. I've read other complaints that glowing blue light keeps people from sleeping at night. I'm glad I was stubborn and ignored those reviews because those complaints almost stopped me from buying this damn thing. I wouldn't say the light is very bright, more like a soft glow, but if you're sensitive to such things (like me) you can just turn off the UV light while you sleep. It works amazingly well even without this feature, although I leave it on throughout the day while I'm at work. Does he do anything at all? I have no idea. Finally, I'd like to add that it's peak allergy season in New Jersey, where I live, but when I wake up I feel completely neutral, like the air outside isn't saturated with pollen (and god knows what else)—it is New Jersey! ). It's actually pretty amazing. Pros: great for allergy sufferers, strong quiet suction, amazing aesthetic, smells nice in your room, practically no dust anywhere Cons: that damn smell for the first few hours Come back in a few months with an update!
