Time for history! So this package was wrapped with duct tape. I was wondering why and when I went to check the package had already been opened and someone was trying to tape it shut - bad. Appears like a returned or used item. I was considering returning it as I assume I'm buying a brand new item but it's a hassle so thought I'd check first. The item itself was good. I didn't notice any damage or scratches and they were in pretty good condition. The cables were a bit tangled, but that's mainly because I assume they shake in this little box during shipping. In the photo you can see how it looks before and after we installed it in our children's room. However, it REALLY lasted quite a long time - WAAAAAAA longer than the ones we replaced to the point where it actually hit the heads of larger family members like my husband when they went underwater. However, this is not a problem that cannot be solved with scissors. We ended up shortening the cord a few inches to match the length of the original trains we had and voila! Fits perfectly! Considering it took me a few steps to get it where I needed it AND it came in questionable packaging, the product itself looked beautiful and I can't say I have any complaints, myself given the issue of length. was an easy decision so I think 4 stars is a fair rating for this coaster purchase.
