The surface is fine, and it's a good size. I wanted to use this for Zoom teaching, which was an epic fail because it's too small to read, BUT it was useful for scheduling my classes during this remote time so I could see the different preps/plans for all of my classes. However, the back leg has a clip that has a little nub that juts out and supposedly holds fast in the ring that is at the end of the joint of the other two legs. Spoiler alert, it's at the wrong angle, or maybe it's just not long enough, but if you look at the thing sideways, the nub falls out of the loop with a bang and you're picking the whole board up off the floor. Again, I used it for planning after trying to tape the nub in the ring, but if you buy this, plan on rigging something so that it stands up.
