Best suited for mounting taillights

The representative told me that the description on the web is wrong because the light connectors don't fit my F150. She suggested I cut off part of the connector to make it work. So I cut off the connector and it works. Big! Probably, but when I put it in reverse the light is so dim I can't even see. I definitely need a different light.
