My backup camera works crystal clear when the engine is not running. With the engine running you can hardly tell what you are looking at. I put that in a string and nothing changed. There were no instructions, but everything is pretty clear. There is a positive and a negative symbol and an arrow showing current flow. I fastened securely with clamps. The camera is still visible and crystal clear when the engine is off after I've added it to my line, so I know it's connected properly.
