Scanned images can be sent directly to a PC or smart device, or saved to internal memory for later batch download. I found a free ISBN lookup website and used a scanner to enter a number; it works effectively like a keyboard. The website returns full data, which I manually copy into a spreadsheet. Having established the principle, I am now looking for an application that automates the transmission, but the task has become solvable even without it. I'm not sure how well this scanner will work in a production situation, but for me it solved a long-standing problem and I'm very impressed with it.
