Much less durable than Gentle Leader

I've been using Gentle Leader for 11 years. Worked great, but always pressed on our dog's nose with the slightest pull. When we recently adopted a dog, I decided to buy a Halti because I thought it would be more comfortable. Advantages over Gentle Leader: 1. Soft nose loop.2. A harness that clips onto your dog's collar in case the halter falls out. However, the latch is small and if you have arthritis in your thumbs like I do, you will have a hard time opening and attaching it. When your dog is not pulling, there is no pressure on his nose. Strong pressure only when your dog pulls hard. Disadvantages compared to soft leader: 1. More difficult to put on and train the dog: Since all things hang down, it is more difficult to put them on the dog's nose and then fasten the collar. I've been using the Soft Leader for a few days and I'm waiting for this Halti to arrive. My new dog got used to Gentle Leader in 2 days. On the contrary, even after following the instructions in the YouTube video, it took over a week for our new dog to accept Halti.2. I found that when I let my dog out of Halti she rushed up the stairs. When she did this, the neck strap came loose and I had to adjust it every time I put it on her. On the contrary, with the Soft Leader it's done once and that's it.3. The material Halti is made of is very fragile. After less than 2 weeks of use, the ring fell apart and covered the dog's mouth. In contrast, my 11+ year old Gentle Leader was a little worn in the same spot but held our previous 80 lb dog and still works with our new 80 lb dog. There is a difference in the quality of building materials in the day and in the night Summary: 1. The concept of the Halti collar is good, but it is more difficult to put on than the Gentle Leader.2. The material is flimsy and didn't last 2 weeks while my Gentle Leader is over 11 years old and still hasn't broken.3. Halti requires you to adjust the fit every time you walk your dog to ensure the neck strap doesn't come loose. At Gentle Leader this happens once. I cannot recommend this headdress. Fragile material can fall apart in the blink of an eye, and poor fasteners on the collar that slip off very easily make the collar very unreliable. The only saving grace is the seat belt.
