short cables are a problem

I'm just starting to install these blue stone lights but I don't understand if they expect us to install them in the wheel arches why these lights only have a 7 inch wire entry there must be at least 2 feet of wire present be so it is possible pass the fender underneath so you can connect it. Now I have to spend time adding 2 feet of wire to each light because I don't want to make that connection to the fender at the bottom. no sense why these companies do this
