Setting it up was a real challenge. The user guide states that you should contact your ISP for information on VPI/VCI and connection types before following the CD setup wizard. The only problem is that this is only half of the information needed to properly set up the modem following the instructions on the CD. After several attempts to set up the modem, selecting different setup questions, the only way I was able to resolve the issue was to contact Centurylink Technical Support for setup questions while I was going through the setup process. About a week after installation I lost my internet connection and contacting Centurylink resulted in their assessment that everything was fine on their end, so the problem must be with the modem. It got worse when I gave them the name and model of the modem and they told me they had no information about that manufacturer. and a model compatible with your system. This contradicts what is stated on the Revain website for this product. When I was arguing with a CenturyLink tech rep, my connection magically re-established itself. It remains to be seen what other gremlins will come across this modem in the future.
