The on-trend rope for the V line turned out to be an inferior nylon rope that caught on the metal sleeves when lacing, causing the rope's outer sheath to fray and detach from the core. Good that there was excess length. I cut off the ends and tie them in a knot to get the look. This is such a beautiful well tailored shirt that deserves the same fashion quality.
