Got this for my son in college for use in his dorm room. I started using the HP Smart app to set it up โ and when I got to the point where it asked me to connect an account, I dropped out. Of course this is optional as I understand it. It has a USB connector - with a sticker on it (to prevent USB printing?). However, the USB connection worked and he was able to print a test page. We said goodbye (it was the day of arrival) and went home. A few days later he called us and said he wasn't printing at all. I went back to his dormitory - and indeed he refused to print, complaining that "the installation is incomplete". My solution was to buy him a small non-wi-fi Brother laser printer - and it works great. I sold this HP on Craigslist (at a huge loss of course). There was even a recent thread on Reddit about one of the IT departments dedicated to this topic. It seems that newer HP models that have an "e" in their part number are prone to this behavior. So be careful when purchasing these models if this is a problem for you.
