Excellent: Very nice warm ambient light made a big difference in the kitchen lighting where jars with a range of 65-85w incandescent lightbulbs (previous owner) were lit which in my opinion were not enough to light up the room. There's no hum and they dim very well, with the color of the light remaining nearly the same across the brightness range. As a bonus, the old yellowed trim rings are now thrown in the trash and these upgraded blocks cover the hole in the ceiling. However, the supplied foam ring is a joke. Useless. One might wonder why Cooper Electric even bothered with this, but I suspect it meets some of the minimum requirements of the standard. If it bothers me, I would substitute a strip of tape cut to length and taped to the inside of the hood rim.
