USB works most of the time, audio is useless

This KVM works but has many quirks. I bought a 4 port VGA with audio. I installed it on 3 computers (OSX, Windows and Linux). Unfortunately, the sound is unusable due to background noise. Connecting speakers to the KVM creates a very annoying background noise that makes it impossible to work unless you're playing your music loud enough not to notice. Also, the pitch changes as you move the mouse. So don't buy this if you want sound and don't want to go crazy. USB switching works perfectly. The switching time can be quite slow at times (5-7s) and at worst it sometimes just refuses to switch to one machine until you turn off all other machines. Yes, it sucks, but that doesn't usually happen. Finally, it has an annoying feature: double-tapping Numlock toggles inputs and it can't be turned off! When working with VMs, simply switching between the VM and host when their numlock states do not match will cause this problem. This might not be a problem for most people, but it's annoying as hell when you're running a virtual machine. There doesn't seem to be a way to disable this feature. Fortunately, it still works quite well as a USB/Display KVM. If I had to buy another one, I would definitely try a different model.

Pros

Cons
  • Anything I can add
