I took this to Costa Rica to protect my electronics (camera) in the rain while hiking and spotting animals in the rainforest. I also took it on a boat trip where it was raining heavily. No problem if something gets wet inside. Despite the price, a very well made backpack. In addition, the presence of external mesh pockets and an area for laces was very convenient. Straps and padding on the back make it more comfortable. Please note that like other dry bags on the market, there is only one LARGE pocket on the inside back --- it is not divided into different pockets or compartments. Considering its size (it holds a lot) and its dark color, it was sometimes difficult to find the items inside unless I had a light inside while looking around. I wish it had different compartments divided inside to make it easier to organize things and find them quickly, but I won't blame it as dry bags don't seem to be built that way. I'd recommend with confidence, but don't forget to get a pocket organizer to create compartments inside so you can find things faster.
