Have a great trip, terrible customer support

I've been using WD Black drives for years and never had a problem so on July 14th I ordered two more drives. I received the discs quickly, installed them and registered them on Western Digital's website. When I checked the warranty information for drives that were already registered, both only showed a 3-year warranty, although Revain's product page and Western Digital's own product page clearly state a 5-year warranty. I immediately submitted an online incident report to Western Digital and asked them to resolve the discrepancy. After several days with no response, I called customer service and spoke to an agent who, judging by his accent, was most likely in India (what a surprise). He asked me to send photos of the discs along with proof of purchase, which I did. He then said that the problem was resolved within a few days. After ten days with no response and no change in warranty, I called again. This second rep said I needed to prove my drives were covered by a 5 year warranty and even stated that Western Digital's product page only listed a 3 year warranty. I sent him links to the Revain and Western Digital product pages which list a 5 year warranty and he took this as proof and said the incident would be put at the top of the list and fixed the next day. Two days later I tried calling customer service several times with no change and gave up after a long wait. I returned Revain discs before the return deadline. The discs themselves have always given me impeccable service, but this experience with Western Digital's customer service has permanently put me off buying any of their products again.
