I really wanted to like this dropper. The design looks so elegant. But unfortunately not everything works so well. Something in the round shape slows the rate at which the coffee drips, and the open structure offers no thermal insulation. (I didn't assume the plastic dripper provided insulation, but apparently it does.) Combine the two and add some cold cream and you have a not-so-hot cup of coffee. I didn't want to believe it, so I started competing in two cups. Each consisted of 280 grams of 190 feet of water poured onto 18 grams of finely ground coffee. I didn't check the temperature of the finished coffee (sorry, I should have) but three days in a row the results were the same - the Melita coffee was hot; This coffee was warm. Another note, if you do decide to buy one of these, I've had by far the best results with filter #4. I've also tried #2, both the basket style and the small ones that come with a dripper. The filters don't really want to sit in this round dripper, so all the smaller ones ran the risk of dirt and water spilling out sideways. Anyway, #4 solved this problem.
