Don't let it burn, otherwise it stinks to high heaven! (Yes, even after reading the reviews I could still forget it.) I had to scrub the inside to remove the residue, but it didn't seem to do any permanent damage. I use mine in a fairly small room (about 11 x 11 feet). Fill with water, add a few drops of essential oil, light a candle, close the door and leave for 15-20 minutes. When you come back, the room should smell like that lovely scent you added to the burner. I bought a second one after testing the first and had no problems with either - both smell nice in a small space. Both are very attractive. Green actually looks brown to me, but I like it, it looks earthy and natural. Blue is mostly black with blue accents where its "handle" meets the "body". I suspect based on my own experience and the reviews I've seen the color of what you get is a bit unpredictable.
