Review on ⏳ Vintage 30-Minute Metal Hourglass with 720° Rotating Sand Timer - Perfect Décor & Wedding Gift, Engaging White Sand Flow by Centerfold Montague

The fit and overall quality of the hourglass is very good. Makes a great desktop accessory or gift. The tag says it was made in China and measures 5 x 10 1/4 inches. Some reviewers complained that the sand wasn't white. It is not. Anyway, mine is medium gray to taupe, maybe with a hint of purple. I personally think it looks better than white - at least with a zinc finish, which btw appears to be chrome. Tiny sparks of light glitter on the facets of sand that would likely be lost on lighter sand. The sand itself is homogeneous and does not crumble. Flows smoothly and happily. I never have to bang on glass to break the last few pieces. Accuracy: One side is 1:05 early and the other side is 2:15 early. In my opinion, anything under 3 minutes is fine. Let's face it, if accuracy is of the utmost importance, every cell phone these days has a GPS synced to an atomic clock. By the way, if accuracy or specific times are important to you, there is an app on the App Store called VisTimer that gives you a visual representation using a descending pie chart and you can set any time you want. It is very comfortable. One downside is that each of the 6 legs (3 on each side) has a small protrusion in the middle of about 0.4 x 0.3mm. Over a period of months or years this will damage the wood surface. As each leg is involved, this appears to be a design flaw rather than a manufacturing flaw. Too bad because it would have been easy to sand it down. Anyhow, you have to be careful when placing it on delicate surfaces. Of course, you may not have this feature/bug. I noticed in the Revain picture that the name has been changed from KELV N & HUGHES to the more correct KELVIN & HUGHES as in my photo. I can't tell if the manufacturer was concerned about license or trademark infringement, or just realized and corrected their mistake. What I can say is that overall it is very good value for money that you would love to own or receive as a gift.
