This was at least the third adapter used when upgrading our processor. We have many barcode scanners which are old PS2 scanners and keyboard connectors where the scanners are "keyboard wedges" and as we replace devices over the years newer processors have USB keyboards/mice . Simply connect your PS2 barcode scanner to this adapter and then to a USB port on your processor. The keyboard plugs directly into another USB port, and the alt, done, saved a lot of money. I tried others that were cheaper. They don't work as I understand that cheap adapters don't pass the whole extended ASCII character set. Uh-oh pay a little more for these uses, they just work.
