I bought these lights to replace the thin line fluorescent lights used on my sailboat. Fluorescent lights generate some heat and lightbulbs need to be replaced from time to time, not to mention battery drain. LED lamps give more light, consume much less energy and are easy to install. I especially like the ability to include one side instead of the entire device (both sides). With only half the light (on one side) on, the light produced in the cabin is as much, if not more than, two fluorescent tubes. I would recommend these lamps to anyone looking to save on energy use and reduce the heat generated by more traditional lamps.
