Review on Dorman 917-313 Engine Oil Dipstick: Accurate Oil Level Measurement and Easy Maintenance by John Roby

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Is the 2006 dipstick too long for your minivan? This one is correct.

Well, at least for some 2006 minivans, including mine. From reading these previous customer reviews I learned that the 917-320 probe listed as a 2006 model will not fit properly as it is about 1 1/4 longer than this (917-313). It shows the oil level in my minivan as 1 1/2 quarts too full when in fact it isn't. Sometime in the 2006 model year there were changes in production. I used to have a 917-320 in my minivan. I changed the oil according to the instructions and lo and behold, the oil level is now full. I ordered this 917-313 and the oil level is now full. Probably the FCA dealer could use your car's VIN and give you the correct one, but I'm not sure. I know it was cheaper to order both 917-313 for 2005 and older and 917-320 for 2006 and later and just throw away the wrong one, 917-320 in my case.
