Scanned several 35mm slides and everything works "OK" - the resolution didn't even match the manufacturer's specification. Basically, it allows you to download the slides as a snapshot to your computer when they are displayed in snapshot size. When viewed at a 5x7 or 8x10 resolution my slides handle easily when printed hard while remaining sharp, they don't look sharp when scanned on this machine. Scanning real photos and negatives is even worse. The results are severely low in contrast and the resolution is far inferior to the original even when viewed at the same size as the original - totally unacceptable! If you're scanning old and faded photos or negatives, they'll appear even more faded when scanned with this pup, to the point where they're unusable, even if the originals are good. So basically this scanner is useless. It's a shame because although everything is plastic, the build quality is very good. It feels solid, not cheap or fragile. It's very easy to use and the ability to scan directly to an SD card is a great feature. I really wanted to like this thing but ended up sending it back due to the poor image quality.
