As soon as Stephen stopped being afraid of it (he doesn't like new things), he immediately started chewing it! I love that it can file its nails a bit and keep its beak in great shape, as well as providing what appears to be a delicious calcium snack! The color (and maybe the taste? IDK I haven't licked it) varies if that matters (it really shouldn't). A good size for a green-cheeked kennel, maybe up to the sun or similar size - just because it sits very close to the cage wall as it's not very deep. Maybe if it was outside the cage and had more space bigger birds could sit on it or they could chew it all over. That's great!
