I wanted to buy a whole set of new knives because mine were completely useless. I couldn't safely cut a tomato. My grandmother advised me to try this first because it could save money and she was right! I can't believe the difference just a few strokes can make. And then the white stone that comes with the kit should smooth and roughen up the imperfections from sharpening. Love it. This should be a staple in the kitchen. It is also easy to hide and store.
