Here my personal observations for a woman with shoe size 6.5: - 1 compartment can hold more than 1 pair of sandals/flip flops (2+ shoes/1 compartment adidas etc.) fit in 1 compartment (2 boots/1 compartment) - 1 pair of sneakers (Converse, Vans, etc.) fit in 1 compartment (2 boots/1 compartment) - high-top sneakers (e.g. Nike Airmax) need two compartments per pair (1 shoe / 1 slot) - small wedges or heels require two slots per pair (1 shoe / 1 slot) - boots or large heels will not fit in the slot I hope this helps!
