I'm a professional photographer and videographer and this works fantastic! I edit my work for 1/2 year and let me switch from laptop to desktop while working on the same work. Examples: I photograph a wedding and create an Adobe Lightroom library for it on the hard drive, then select my images from wherever I want, then connect the hard drive to my desktop, and then edit photos on my desktop with a bigger screen and a faster one Processor. The disk itself is very small and is 1/2 the size of my hand. Easily fits in your pocket! It is very durable as it is flash memory encased in a sturdy case with breathable fins. Not heated, silent, does not require additional air conditioning. My only regret is that I didn't invest in 2TB, but 1TB is fine for now when I'm done editing. Every year when I'm done editing for my clients, I buy inexpensive 8TB WD drives and archive them.
