It looks like a good drinking straw. Made in the Dominican Republic

Biodegradable straws don't pollute the oceans like plastic straws. Now that plastic straws are banned in some places, people carry reusable straws or use paper straws. Some people need straws because of physical limitations, others just like them because they are clean and healthy. If you've ever seen a report of bacteria being found on the rims of glasses in restaurants because you've been handling them, you probably love using straws. When I was growing up we used paper straws. Plastic straws were only used as novelties and were shaped like bows for children's entertainment. We also used paper bags. There was no such thing as a garbage patch in the ocean. Unfortunately, manufacturers have changed all that by making almost everything out of plastic. So I really think we need to stop using so much plastic. I'm glad paper straws are making a comeback. The packaging says they are BPA free. I couldn't find out if they are gluten free. Paper straws are made with glue, and food-safe glues include wheat starch, corn starch, and gelatin. Those of us with food allergies would like to know for sure, but it's almost impossible to find out. The only downside to using a paper straw is that the portion left in the drink will soften over time. They are intended for single use.

Pros

Cons
  • So far so good
