I have gone back to lap swimming (I spent 10 years swimming competitively or coaching teams, and 10 years lifeguarding and teaching swimming) and saw this suit and thought I would give it a try. My body is a bit older and I wanted fuller coverage than a lot of the swimsuits for competitive swimming offer. The most difficult part is deciding what size will work - the sizing is not in line with competitive swimwear and online sizing is usually European, so I used the chart and took my best guess as I fell between sizes. Turns out I could have used a size a smaller, maybe even my regular size. I bought the XL, which is far too loose, the large may have been just right but with the stretch a Medium may have also worked.For reference, I am 5'4", a 36C bust, 180-lbs, normally wear a size medium or 10-12 in ladies clothing, have a 32" waist and 42" hips and can fit into petite as well as regular clothing.I do like that the shoulder straps are adjustable and that allowed the suit to work even being a bit large. However, I won't be able to wear it for lap swimming and feel the same would apply to the smaller size as well. The reason for this is the bust is cut a bit low allowing water to fill the space and create drag as you swim. The bust pads don't like to stay in position either and are not so easy to reposition - it would be better to just have a third layer of material there instead of the padding.In the photos you can see the fit pre-swim and post-swim. Notice the stretch was pretty extreme, particularly considering it wasn't me causing the stretch but the water. I am still going to use the swimsuit for lounging or kayaking, but it isn't one I would choose for lap or competitive swimming, especially if you are a bit "busty".
