I've read reviews of the various models of this tool available. I've avoided the softer metal and the crappy cheaper vinyl bonded model for the same price. The one I got some smaller ones Flaws in workmanship and wasn't perfect but what do you expect for 1/4 the retail price of an aftermarket item?Plastic, the "support" surface held up really well. It served my purpose very well, for a one time use when Rebuilding a 2005 Dodge Ram 5.9L Cummins Turbo Diesel Frame I recommend this if you are on a budget and don't use this tool every day, if you use it all the time and will spend the extra money and get one from a shop that does the job Manufacturing tools.Why be disappointed with poor quality when you use it all the time . But for a while or for a time. It's a great choice.
