This Koios air purifier is very well built. It has a very beautiful laconic design (beige case with a glass touch panel on top). The air intake is not your typical grilled vent. Instead, air intakes are located around the base of the device as well as on the sides. Much prettier looking and much more efficient than having the inlet attached to the back of the unit on a wall. The device has a good weight - not very heavy, but solid. The black control panel works with a light touch and is very intuitive. There is a light ring that indicates air quality: blue LED indicates clean/good air; Green LED indicates some contamination / medium quality; Red LED indicates high contamination/poor quality. I was impressed that the air purifier has several special features not normally found in a basic air purifier. The device is equipped with an ionizer that can remove impurities such as bacteria, pollen, dust, smoke, formaldehyde and benzene. I noticed a noticeable reduction in dust, smoke, and odors. I love the fact that this air purifier has a HEPA filter. After approximately 2000 hours of use, the four segments of the timer button will light up to remind you to replace the used filter. The UV sterilizer is a great feature to neutralize microorganisms like bacteria and viruses. The UV function starts working automatically and turns off automatically after 4 hours of use. The timer can set the device to 1, 2, 4 or 8 hours and turn off automatically after the set time. There are 4 fan speeds: high, medium, low, sleep and standby. This unit is by far the quietest I've ever tried. The high fan speed is louder than the rest as it should be. However, the high speed is designed for quick cleaning of the room air and is not designed for continuous operation. I find low to medium speeds to be very quiet. They don't disturb normal conversations and don't require turning up the volume on the TV. In sleep mode, the fan generates a very, very low noise level - like a white-noise machine. It actually helps lull you to sleep! I love having a remote control for this device! The remote control has a power button and requires 2 AAA batteries. Besides the fan, timer, UV and backlight remote control, there is a mode button that divides the mode function into 2 parts: auto mode and sleep mode. There are 6 different mode settings that are very easy to program, including the automatic mode (my favourite)! Overall I am very impressed with the quality and functionality of this air purifier. I can notice a difference in the air quality in my home, especially dust, odors and pollen. My husband usually sneezes in the spring. After using this air purifier, his allergies are noticeably better! I take it to the office too!
