My old alternator squeaked so I'm guessing the bearings are bad. This is perfect for my 2003 Taurus SE. If you have a Taurus from the same era, check if your alternator has 2 or 3 bolt points like this one. This confirms that you are ordering the correct alternator. Installation took about an hour.
