A small, simple solution to add a camera to a webcast via SDI

I bought this unit for live hockey webcasts. We're using a MacBook Pro with two BlackMagic Design Ultra Studio Mini Recorders connected to the computer's Thunderbolt ports to transmit SDI signals from two cameras. We use a Magewell USB Capture SDI USB 3.0 device to connect a third camera to a computer via one of its USB ports (the other USB port on the computer is used to send the stream over Ethernet). The Magewell device connects to the computer via a powered USB 3.0 hub, which also connects to an external 24-channel audio mixer. No problems with Magewell or the computer with this setup. The Magewell device is much smaller than BMD devices (although they are also quite small) and unlike BMD devices, it does not appear to heat up during use. The Magewell device connects and works as advertised. No software to download, no settings other than selecting as the source in the switching app (we use Wirecast). Pre-game show, game and post-game interviews. Magewell works flawlessly no matter how long we plug it in. We also have an HDMI version of the Magewell recorder. It served us well for two years before we switched to full SDI production. A note: you must connect a standard SDI BNC to Magewell SDI USB 3.0 cable using the small adapter cable that comes with the device. The interface between the adapter cable and the device is quite small and I'm not sure how well it will work. The time will show.
