It works very well

Works REALLY well. Both on PC and Mac. Uses it to transmit switchable video/audio from studio to Webex, Skype and others.

It is so easy! good for audio and video accessories

Perfect for my needs! Have had it for several months with no problems. I use this device to live stream my Canon Vixia HF M41 over the internet! Just plug in and live! It is so easy!

Plug and play - ideal for live streaming

We are using this with a Panasonic VCR. Worked out of the box on both Mac and Windows. Your system will automatically detect your video device and you're good to go.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance

Good performance good price

Bought this device to enable fast streaming in VLC for image analysis purposes. Worked great right out of the box and fast for what I needed, but I'd be wary of using it for real-time mission critical tasks as the image freezes occasionally and VLC needs to be restarted and Magewell disabled. This could be related to my computer or VLC, but not knowing for sure I would suggest checking carefully before using it for live streaming and/or unattended streaming. Otherwise, this is a quality device…

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Was damaged

Works as advertised.

I have a client who wanted to view the HD output of a medical microscope during a video conference using a service like Go to Meeting. The microscope's video panel has an SDI output, which I needed to connect to the USB port on my Macbook Pro. I bought a device, but the video conference was canceled. I tested Magewell with the camcorder's SDI output and it worked right out of the box with no drivers or software to install. I tested it with Go to Meeting and was able to pass the camera's HD-SDI…

  • Sturdy finish

A small, simple solution to add a camera to a webcast via SDI

I bought this unit for live hockey webcasts. We're using a MacBook Pro with two BlackMagic Design Ultra Studio Mini Recorders connected to the computer's Thunderbolt ports to transmit SDI signals from two cameras. We use a Magewell USB Capture SDI USB 3.0 device to connect a third camera to a computer via one of its USB ports (the other USB port on the computer is used to send the stream over Ethernet). The Magewell device connects to the computer via a powered USB 3.0 hub, which also connects…
